There is a lot of music that sound like the "same-ol same-ol" cookie cutter rap, designed from the same trap-drums, auto-tune, street tales, drug-using, pill poppin, sexually promiscuous playbook of today's hip hop musical landscape. Then... there are some that sound somewhat similar, YET still stands out with lyrical skills and swift cleverness....
That would be Hulk and Nubo, with their new single "R.N.S."
Repping their Cash Family Crew, both Hulk and Nubo are from Easton, MD, also known as Dodge City, home of the Boogie Down Bottom and Hilltop neighborhoods.
The Hilltop neighborhood is the nation's oldest free black neighborhood, dating back to 1788. Chattel slavery didn't end until December 1865. The Hilltop is home to several legends, including UCLA Bruin and Los Angeles Laker Walt Hazzard, WNBA Houston Comets' Kelly Gibson, Penn State's Bruce Blake and 80's pioneering rap group Level 4, just to name a few.
The influence and greatness of "The Hill" have definitely rubbed off on Hulk City and Nubo.
Hulk City and Nubo recently stopped by ItzYourzRadio on Live 97.5 FM in Salisbury, MD to promote their latest single "R.N.S". It's available on all digital streaming platforms.
